Pat was a typical fifties girl, pert and pretty, and a resident, says picture editor Robin Brewster, of Malta. Well, there are pictures of her in a Mediterranean setting, even if she was wearing a negligee and fluffy slippers − so maybe it was true. And there’s an even more mind-boggling set of her hanging her knickers up to dry on a clothesline on the beach not far from a fort!
She was also said to be a photographer’s assistant and “a skilled dark-room operator”. Ahem, yes – moving right along … she was also, not surprisingly perhaps, a part-time model. As she appears in Span 26, lying down leafing through a copy of Span 25, I can’t help wondering about the logistical problems involved of getting photos back that fast from an island in the middle of the Med..
Pat’s hobby was sewing and making her own clothes. Judging from her photo shoots, she didn't spend much time on her hobby.
