Pamela Johnson is a rather difficult model to identify and classify. Except that she was one of the Yorkshire girls (about which more will appear in the History section in the fullness of time).
She was one of the Directoire Knicker Brigade, which almost exclusively makes her a ToCo model; the fetish magazines of the middle years of ToCo (Search, Relate Accord etc) featured them regularly, but no pin-up/glamour books. And yet she was seen in that sitting room with French windows that the Harrison Marks girls were so often seen in. And I for one saw such a resemblance to Marks’ model Wendy Luton that I thought they were one and the same. My thanks to site followers for pointing out the error of my ways.
Pam is further of interest in ToCo history because she also wore a white rubber mac in at least two mags, though almost certainly from the same shoot. In Beautiful Britons 104 (July 64), ToCo shows it was trying out a sideline in the form of rubber fetish garments, stating “we can supply you with one for £8. Write to us for details”. Again, if any reader has further information on this ToCo diversification, we would be delighted to hear from you.
