Jackie Lane

Jackie was born in Vienna, like her elder sister Mara, to a Russian mother, Olga Mironova (a concert pianist), and an English father (an executive for an American oil company). They all moved to the States when Jackie was quite young and she was educated in New Rochelle, New York. When she was 14, they moved to the UK where Jackie received dance training.

By the time she was 18, she had become a popular model under the professional name of Jackie Lane. She gradually made the transition to film actress but, as there was already another actress with the same name (well known for her appearance at the time in the early Doctor Who TV series), the film credits gave her real name. In 1965, she co-starred with Elvis Presley in Tickle Me. She also appeared in many famous TV series in the 1960s, including The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Burke’s Law, and It Takes a Thief.

Her similarity to Brigitte Bardot was obvious and, in 1966, she appeared in the September edition of Playboy. In February 1971, she retired and married Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe-Langenburg in Marbella, Spain later in the same year.
